Capital One Bank Robbed in Ronkonkoma

Police: Man handed teller note that demanded cash.

Suffolk County Police is investigating a bank robbery that occurred Saturday at a Capital One bank branch in Ronkonkoma.

A man entered the bank on Portion Road just before 2:00 p.m. and showed a teller a note that demanded cash which indicated a threat if the teller did not comply, police said.

The teller complied with the man’s demands and gave him cash. The man fled on foot and headed east towards the Kohl’s Department Store.

According to police, the man was described as white or Hispanic, between 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall, in his 20s. He was wearing a classic Yankees hat, a dark windbreaker and sunglasses. 

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
